For the first year, I finally managed to remember to check the festival schedule early enough to plan to get to the Georgetown Highland Games. In Ontario, the annual summer pipe band competitions are organized by the Pipers’ and Pipe Band Society of Ontario. The first full outdoor festival in the competitive schedule is in Georgetown with the Games scheduled for the first or second weekend in June each year, so this year fell on June 8th. In all previous years I have failed to check the schedule until after this date has passed, so I’d never been to the Georgetown games, even though it is the closest to home of all the Ontario games. This year turned out to be a glorious day and the massed bands, heavies and especially the pipe band competition did not disappoint. I got tons of photos and was only able to bring myself to whittle the set down to 211 photos. Enjoy!
